A new book on Tholing, Nyarma and Tabo
The project Buddhist Architecture in the Western Himalayas has developed more rich documentation on ancient temple complexes, including Tabo.
For many years, Holger Neuwirth and Carmen Auer, together with their team at the Graz University of Technology, have been doing very valuable work documenting ancient temple complexes in the Himalayan region.
Their precious work can be viewed extensively on the website of the project Buddhist Architecture in the Western Himalayas. For the earthen temple complex of Tabo Monastery, a sub-site presents 2D plans, 3D models, and photos that provide excellent insights into the structure of the temple, and its evolution across different building phases.
Now, Holger Neuwirth and Carmen Auer have published a new book, The Ancient Monastic Complexes of Tholing, Nyarma and Tabo. It is available in a print version and as an open access ebook.
We thank Holger Neuwirth, Carmen Auer and their team very much for their precious work documenting Tabo Monastery's ancient temple complex!
