Tabo Monastery’s new website is online
Tabo Monastery was established over 1,000 years ago and is today the oldest earthen Buddhist monastery in the Himalayan region that has survived unchanged and comparatively well intact. The new website design presents our history and traditions, the efforts to preserve Tabo’s rich heritage and the latest developments. It has a “News” section, the school’s “Message Board”, and pictures and videos. From time to time, we will update the information on the website. In addition, we have opened our official Instagram account and Twitter account, to make it easy to follow us and connect with us.
The new website – which is accessible through our URL tabomonastery.org – was created by young trainees from Berlin in a trainee project of the Förderverein für regionale Entwicklung e.V., in cooperation with the monastery, Tsenshap Serkong Labrang and Serkong School.
The German Förderverein für regionale Entwicklung e.V. – an association supporting regional development – is committed to the practical training of vocational students through its projects. The trainees can put their theoretical knowledge into practice on real website projects and thus gain practical experience to further their professional careers. In turn, this support programme enables local authorities, public and private institutions, associations and smaller companies, among others, to create a website free of charge. As a principle, the websites are created according to the ideas of the project partners. The result is individual websites, which can be updated independently without programming knowledge.
We very much enjoyed the collaboration with the young trainees and the Förderverein für regionale Entwicklung e.V. and we thank them very much for their work.
